How you can be involved
Go
Through the OneStory quest program, you can spend approximately two to two and a half years in interactive engagement with a people group to provide the beginnings of an Bible Storying Set that will reach their hearts and minds. You’ll receive training in worldview research and Bible storying. You’ll join a team and travel to a people group, Working alongside mother tongue storyers to begin crafting an Bible Storying Set of chronological stories in the people’s mother tongue. You’ll begin to tell these stories in the familiar context of the people group, e.g. around the cooking fire, you’ll produce a Bible story set (recorded on CD) that you and others can use to begin storying groups that prayerfully will spark a church planting movement among your people.
You’ll build relationships, minister as part of a multi-cultural team, and produce something of eternal value. An unreached people group will finally have access to the gospel of Christ. Churches can grow, disciples can be made, and these unreached people will no longer be unreached … because you reached out with the spoken word that speaks to their hearts.
The requirements for doing a OneStory project can be found on the requirement page of the application download. You will be responsible for raising both their personal support and costs for the project. YWAM OneStory provides materials and coaching and prayer to assist people in fundraising. To date all of the YWAMers committed to projects have successfully raised their funds. Most recent project costs have run between $3000-8000 USD. These costs are per project, not per person. The cost varies according to location and other circumstances. We believe that there are many in the church wanting to support efforts among the unreached if given the opportunity!
Pray
Pray for an Unreached People Group or for OneStory workers (by yourself of lead a group of others). If you have a heart for intercessory prayer and would like to be a part of our OneStory team through intercession, contact Ed at 903-509-5374 or email him at askus@ywamonestory.org.
Give
You can partner with us financially by giving a one-time gift for a OneStory Project or by giving monthly to a team member. You will help bring a set of crafted oral Bible stories to an Unreached People Group living in darkness.
